Goldilocks and the Three bears adapted by Jennifer Boudart is a traditional literature book which falls under fairy tales. This book has been passed down and adapted by many different authors. This book has won a Caldecott Medal which is given to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears is about a family of three bears who live in a cozy cottage in the forest. When Mama Bear makes their morning oatmeal they let it cool by going on a family walk. One morning there was a girl named Goldilocks walking through the forest. She had been following butterflies in the forest and eventually became very tired and hungry and after walking a long time she came across the three bears lovely house. After waiting a bit after asking if anyone was home, she decided to let herself in. When she walked in she saw the three bowls of oatmeal and realized she was hungry and proceeded to try all three bowls. She ended up eating Baby Bears oatmeal because it was just right. After eating she felt really full and saw the three chairs and tested them all out and felt like the third seat was perfect. After sitting in Baby Bears chair and getting sleepy she tried getting up but ended up breaking the chair. Then she walked into another room and saw three beds and tested them all out and was most comfortable in Baby Bears bed so she decided to take a nap. Once she fell asleep the Bear family came home and realized someone had eaten their oatmeal and left quite a mess. Mama Bear feeling concerned with who might have done all of this decides she needs to take a seat so the family walks over to the living room and then they realize one by one that someones also been sitting in their chairs and see that Baby Bears chair has been broken. So Mama Bear decides that they should check the bedroom. So they each checked their beds and Baby Bear saw Goldilocks sleeping in his bed and couldn't tell if she was real or not so he went back to his parents. That's when Goldilocks wakes up, when she feels Baby Bear touch her and speak. When she wakes up she sees the three bears and screams and jumps out of the bed and right out the window. Since she jumps straight out of the window straight through the forest and home. The bear family would never find out who she was and why she came into the house. Sometimes Baby Bear would wish she'd come back and play.

I would use this book in my class because it teaches about the need to respect others privacy and how your actions may hurt others. The classroom grade I'd use this book in would be K-3 because those ages are when kids might still be learning and getting used to respecting others space and privacy. This would be used perhaps if a problem arises regarding respecting others space and not understanding boundaries. So it would help teach students how respecting others boundaries is a good thing and something very important.
